The first appearance by Covestro – formerly Bayer MaterialScience – at K 2016 is dedicated to innovative and sustainable material solutions to meet the great challenges of our time. However, the company is also using the world’s largest plastics trade fair to showcase itself as an attractive employer to students, talented young people and experienced professionals attending the event. Anyone interested can find out more at the Career Bar at the Covestro stand, Stand 75 A, in Hall 6.

“Our objective is to bring innovative developments to life and get people interested in our company and spark their enthusiasm for our values: curious, courageous and colorful,” says Helge Kroll from Global Employer Branding at Covestro. The values reflect curiosity about advances and new developments, but also the courage to identify opportunities where others see boundaries and to then push those boundaries. “Colorful” refers to creativity and a diversity of talents.

“We’re looking for people who identify themselves with these values and are committed to joining us in working toward our purpose ‘to make the world a brighter place,’” said Kroll. The company offers them the opportunity to create new products, collaborate on relevant solutions and projects, and develop professionally and personally. He adds that a good collaboration with customers, universities and other stakeholders – directly on site but also internationally – is also important.

Hands-on polymers
The Covestro stand offers anyone interested a whole host of opportunities to find out about the company’s products and their importance in everyday life. A new design concept for electric cars, composites for even lighter, smart IT devices and a portfolio of new materials for 3D printing are just some of the highlights on display. The stand also includes the Sample Bar, where visitors can see, feel and even listen to material samples.

Covestro isn’t just looking for talented chemists and engineers, but also candidates with commercial training and specialists from other fields. For an industry-leading company such as Covestro, attracting men and women alike from all age groups and from a variety of geographical backgrounds goes without saying.

Colorful projects
The employees of Covestro are as diverse as the tasks within the company. For example, Covestro pursues special types of partnerships in developing and implementing solutions to improve the quality of life for disadvantaged sections of the population. The company’s employees coordinate global projects to provide affordable housing.
